I am from Boston ""Beantown"" Massachusetts. I am a faculty advisor for the club since 2011. I love food...period! I love a good back or chest lift and then swim. Of course bricks make me feel warm and fuzzy inside as well. I ride a 2002 LeMond Nevada City, run in Asics, and like a good Pearl Izumi tri suit.
I have competed in Triathlons since 2001. My first race was on a borrowed bike, with no knowledge of the sport in Montana (cows in the road, lots of hills, and one mountain climb). My most memorial race was the 2009 Evergreen Triathlon (Olympic) outside Bloomington, Illinois. At this race I was just in the zone and negative split the last 10 miles on the bike and every mile of the run!! Favorite quote: The race of men is one thing, that of the gods, is another. There is a total difference in power, so that we are nothing- while the bronze heavens remains the gods' secure seat forever. But, nevertheless - we can become something like the gods, through excellence - excellence of mind or of body; even if we don't know from day to day - or night to night - what the finish line fate has marked for our run. (Pindar) My academic interests involve the cultural studies of sport, philosophy of sport and history of sport. My wife and I live in Robinson, Texas and we have a cat (Maggie) and a dog (Baylor). When my wife named Baylor, she never thought she would come back to Baylor Univeristy as a professor! Something interesting about me is I know every word of ""We Didn't Start the Fire"" by Billy Joel! Keep training!! |
